Commitment:

Kennel opening times vary but generally walking takes place between 10am and 3pm.
We ask you to commit to at least 3 supported walks to make our time investment worthwhile.
Usual walk period is 2/ 2.5 hours

Your special needs:

Most of our dogs are medium sized and some pull on the lead.
We always induct with our easier dogs

Please can you come prepared with sensible clothes and footwear for walking in rain/ muddy uneven fields and through country side. Accompanying dogs and children are not allowed and should be left at home. Please bring a shoulder bag or small rucksack to carry useful items in like favourite leads you like and purchase a harness after your first session on our advice. Water for you and for your dog. Good quality treats not brightly coloured ones! Mobile phone charged with credit and programme in an emergency number as instructed by you inductor. Be honest with us we can adjust and find dogs to suit you. Allow 2-3 hours for each of the induction sessions. Give all kennel Staffie respect and obey kennel etiquette as explained on your first day.

Essential to our Volunteer Dog Walker’s Role: Rescue Remedies is an internet based Rescue. The public and all other members of our Rescue learn about our dogs through each volunteer’s impression and the photos portrayed. It is essential that you join our Forum and update with the support of the kennel co-ordinator. All communication goes through the Forum, with a support area section and newsletter and events etc keeping you up-to-date.
